Your music royalties could be stolen

Music creators spend a great amount of time and effort working in and out of the studio in order to create beautiful music and unforgettable experiences for their fans. As soon as the music is released into the public, it begins to earn royalties in one form or the other through streams, airplay, DJs playing the music in clubs, restaurants , etc.

Most often than not, artists create and release these songs without going through the proper way to register their music and secure any revenue that their music will generate once it is released. Which gives way for individuals who know their way around the music business to collect these royalties without the artist’s knowledge or consent.

In most scenarios, even after the artist or rightful owner(s) of the song is able to detect that their royalties are being stolen by someone else, they still go through a hard time of proving that theft are the true owners once they have little to no proof in the form of registration, formal copyright, amongst other.

This could result in spending a lot of time and money on legal fees simply because the artist did not properly register the music before releasing it. Most independent artists don't have access to that level of funding and so the thieves usually get away with it. The only way to avoid this challenge is to register your music properly before release. If you already have unregistered music out, it is not too late!
